Première femme à se rendre dans l'espace

Le 16 juin 1963, Valentina Vladimirovna Tereshkova, aujourd’hui une cosmonaute Russe retraitée, devint la première femme et citoyenne civile à faire un vol dans l’espace. Elle fut choisie parmi plus de 400 candidates pour piloter le Vostok 6.

First women to go to space

On June 16, 1963, Valentina Vladimirovna Tereshkova, now a retired Soviet cosmonaut and engineer, became the first woman and civilian to fly in space after being selected from more than four hundred applicants and five finalists to pilot Vostok 6.
