Par ce jeu de société, Elizabeth tenait à montrer la « nature antisociale du monopole ». En 1931, Charles Darrow a pris connaissance de ce jeu à travers des voisins. C’est là qu’il a créé Monopoly. Il a dû attendre en 1935 avant que Parkers Brothers accepte de le publier. En même temps, Parker Brothers a acheté les droits d’auteur d’Elizabeth pour une bouchée de pain.
